Prized Writing is an anthology of UC Davis undergraduate student writing selected though an annual writing contest. UC Davis’ University Writing Program has proudly produced Prized Writing for twenty-one years to be used as a vehicle for student empowerment through writing, pleasurable reading and a resource of exemplary writing for composition courses.

Volunteer faculty selects only the best submissions for the anthology’s 2 categories: Essays and Scientific & Technical Writing.

Prized Writing authors, many of whom are publishing work for the first time, receive cash prizes, certificates, a copy of the anthology and public recognition at the fall awards reception. Each edition of Prized Writing is sold at the UC Davis Bookstore.
